I had to share my brand new, shiny cover with all of you.
CITIZENS OF LOGAN POND: LIFE will be released in September by Crescent Moon Press.
I hope you guys think it’s as beautiful as I do. I love the colors and the symbolism of the woman sinking in the pond. They did a beautiful job on the cover, and I’m excited that this project, six years in coming, is finally here!
I should probably share a quick story blurb so you know what it’s about:
Her home. Her parents. Her freedom. Gone.
His dreams. His sister. Himself. Lost.
When the financial collapse of America wipes out life as Carrie knows it, she finds the will to survive with a man determined to hate her.
CITIZENS OF LOGAN POND:LIFE is the first in a trilogy set in the not-too-distant future.
This is a new adult romance (clean), set after the economic collapse of America. A nice cheery topic. :) While a lot of Dystopians have a broad focus on the nation and impending war/doom, this book takes a look at how an economic collapse would impact a small, Midwest neighborhood outside of Chicago.
No one can afford technology which keeps this ‘clan’ of neighbors sheltered from the outside world. They have to pull together to learn how to grow crops, sew clothes, find clean water sources, and basically survive.
But there’s a catch.
They’re living illegally in their former homes. Squatting. They weren’t supposed to stick around after getting evicted. They were supposed to move into the government compounds where they could be ‘taken care of.’ The people in the clan clan are forced to hide from the government patrolmen who sweep the local neighborhoods for illegal squatters like them.
The story focuses on Carrie, a twenty-three year old shy girl who forms an unlikely friendship with one of the patrolman. He, in turn, protects their clan and keeps them safe. Unbeknownst to Carrie, this patrolman has fallen for her. Unwillingly and quite by accident, she’s falls for another man, and she’s forced to choose whether to protect her clan or follow her heart.
