I’ve had lots going on my life recently, foremost that my 15yo son was diagnosed with cancer. This cancer hit us from out of the blue–which I suppose cancer usually does. Luckily, he’s doing great and he has a phenomenal attitude. Plus, I love being able to spend more time with him now that he’s home for the next six months, undergoing treatment.
As you can imagine, this little hiccup has given me lots to think about–and do–besides books and music. And yet, strangely, it’s also given me lots to be thankful for. One thing I’ve been most thankful for is people. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from friends, family, strangers, and even many of you! It’s meant so much to us–and him.
To show thanks, I’ve decided to give away some FREE signed books.
I live pretty far from my dad, Gerald N. Lund. I’m in Michigan and he’s in Utah. That’s 1677 miles of a very long, very boring, very torturous I-80 drive through Nebraska and Wyoming. That’s a lot of Kum & Gos.
I love getting his advice on writing, books, and pretty much anything else (like how to survive 3 teenagers). But we aren’t able to do many book signings together because of the distance. So I thought it would be fun to do a book giveaway. I don’t remember my dad doing a giveaway like this in his forty years of writing, but when I asked him, he said, “That sounds fun. How many books do you want?” Love him!
One month from today, LIBERTY will be released (July 4).
To gear up, I’m having a month-long celebration starting today. I’ll be posting specials, teasers, first chapters, and other fun stuff to get ready for this second installment of CITIZENS OF LOGAN POND.
This first week I want to make sure all of you have book 1. So LIFE is $.99 on Kindle again.
Get it. Read it. Share it. You can even “gift” it to another e-reader friend if you want.
Yesterday was Carrie’s birthday. Who’s Carrie? Glad you asked. :) She’s the main character in my new trilogy, Citizens of Logan Pond.
But more importantly…
Yesterday, LIFE (Book 1 in my new adult dystopian trilogy), was re-released with a new imprint. Due to the upheaval in the book industry, my publisher closed its doors March 31st, so now the trilogy is back in my domain. I’m really excited about this because it means I can choose when, how, and where to place it on sale. I can do more promos and giveaways and all that fun stuff.
This new version is available for NOOK for the first time and includes discussion questions that are great for book clubs.
